Pitcheon is free software, given away with no strings. These terms are short because there is very little between us: no account, no payment, and no data of yours on any server of mine.

The licence

Pitcheon is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. The full text ships with the source as LICENSE and is reproduced in the app under About → Licences. That licence is what actually governs your use of the code; this page only explains the parts people usually want in plain words.

No warranty

Pitcheon is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. It might mis-hear a note, mis-time a lyric, or fail to prepare a song. It is a practice tool, not a measuring instrument. To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss arising from using it — including lost recordings, so keep your own copies of anything you would miss.

The music you use it with

Pitcheon processes audio files you already have. You are responsible for having the right to use those files, and for what you do with what comes out. The app has no way to obtain music for you, and nothing you put into it is transmitted anywhere.

Separating a recording you own, for your own private practice, is an ordinary personal use in most places. Publishing or distributing the separated stems generally is not. That distinction is yours to observe.

Updates

The app checks for new versions and can install them. You can decline an update, and you can keep using the version you have. I make no commitment to maintain, support, or continue distributing the software.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the updated version appears here with a new date. The version in force is the one published when you downloaded the app.
